The Augustinians of the Assumption, religious congregation, founded the Assumption College in 1904. founded in France in 1850. The College was originally located in the Greendale section of the city. Assumption is a Catholic college known for its classic liberal arts curriculum and strong academic programs in business and professional studies. More than 2,150 undergraduates choose among majors and minors as they explore an educational experience grounded in the rich Catholic intellectual tradition.

Admissions
Assumption College admits students who demonstrate an active intellect and personal qualities that will contribute to the community.  Before applying prospective students will have to: 1) to schedule a campus visit ; 2) submit standardized test scores (SAT-1 or ACT); 3) view transfer credit policies.

Financial Aid
The Undergraduate Office of Financial Aid at Assumption is committed to assisting incoming freshmen finance their education. Financial aid is based on both academic achievement and financial need. Assumption offers scholarships, grants, work study, and federal and state loans. The college can also suggest resources for private loans.

Career Service 
Assumption’s Office of Career Services provides guidance, resources, and support to students as they explore academic and career options, set goals, and work towards post-graduation success.  Career services staff provide the following services:  individual and group appointments to discuss academic and career options ; assessment of your strengths and interests ; portfolio development advice ; job / internship search strategies including resume and cover letter writing advice, mock interviews and video review .
