Founded in 1840 by Horace Mann, Bridgewater State College is one of America’s first teacher preparation institutions. Bridgewater State College is the largest state college in the Massachusetts Public Higher Education system and the fourth largest campus overall in the system. The College uses its intellectual, scientific and technological resources to support and advance the economic and cultural life of the region and the state. The college’s growing number of innovative academic programs helps to ensure that Bridgewater State College students are prepared to think critically, communicate effectively and act responsibly within a context of personal and professional ethics.

Admission
Freshman candidates for admission should complete a secondary school course of study, or equivalent preparation. The secondary program should include the following college preparatory units: four units of English, three units of mathematics, three science units, two units of history/social science, two units of the same foreign language, and two college preparatory elective units.
Freshman applicants must submit the results of the SAT I: Reasoning Test or the ACT. Those applicants whose native language is not English may submit the TOEFL or the SAT II English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT).
Candidates for January admission must submit the application by November 1. Freshman applicants for the fall semester must submit their completed application by February 15.

Financial Aid Office provides you with a supportive and comfortable environment where counselors are willing to work with you in obtaining the necessary funds you may need to attend BSC.
