Facilities The main campus is comprised of about 10,000 sq ft that includes seven classrooms, a learning resource system, a conference room, a medical lab, a break room, and a career services center. The classrooms at all campuses are equipped with a white board, LCD projector and one computer workstation per student for IT students.
The maximum number of students in a typical classroom or laboratory is normally 24.
AdmissionThe applicants must have earned a minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent and be at least 18 years or older. Hospital Coder/Biller diploma program applicants must have either a CPC, completed the Medical Coding/Billing program or have 1 year’s documented experience in the field. Applicants for Patient Care Technician are subject to a criminal background check before being admitted.
CIF admission is not competitive, and any applicant meeting the admissions criteria will be accepted, provided there is an opening in the program in which they are interested.
Academics A program is a collection of individual courses, usually completed in a prescribed sequence. Each program has its own educational objectives, time to complete, and tuition as specified in the following pages. Several programs may share one or more common courses. At CIF students can train for a new career in either the Medical or the Computer field: Medical Assistant, Medical Coding and Billing, Patient Care Technician; and Information Technology Diploma.
