As the first College in Kansas, Highland Community College began as Highland University in 1858. Serving each student, the college provides educational leadership to help each individual become a well-informed, responsible citizen and a productive member of society.
Highland is financially sound and serves more students than any time in its history. It is governed by a six member Board of Trustees elected from Doniphan County and is coordinated by the Kansas Board of Regents.

Financial AidTo meet students’ needs, Highland Community College has developed a complete program of financial aid and scholarship/award options. It offers aid based upon academic achievement, special talents, and financial need.
Those students, who want to apply for financial aid, need only complete and submit the HCC Application for Financial Aid and the FAFSA. It is possible that applicants and parents will have to submit signed copies of their federal income tax returns and other documents if selected for verification.
