Marylhurst University is a private, co-educational, liberal arts institution. It offers accredited academic and professional programs designed for students who must balance school with work and other responsibilities. A Catholic university, Marylhurst was founded in 1893 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Today, Marylhurst provides quality and innovative educational experiences for individuals of many religious beliefs and backgrounds. Marylhurst offers coursework leading to bachelor's and master's degrees, and to other goals such as career transition, professional development and personal enrichment. The University emphasizes peer learning, personal attention and sense of community. AdmissionPrior to applying for admission, Marylhurst recommends that students meet with an admissions advisor.
Each applicant is considered individually. Applications for admission are accepted continuously throughout the year and require the following:
- A completed application form, along with non-refundable application fee.
- Sealed, official transcript(s) sent directly to Marylhurst from previous institutions you have attended, if applicable.
- A copy of a high school diploma, transcript or verification of general equivalency diploma (GED).
- Measles immunization verification form.
- Letter of Intent outlining academic goals.
- High school students must submit Letter of Recommendation from an academic reference.
- Transfer students must have a minimum GPA of 2,00.
- Applicants who have never attended college must schedule an informational interview with an admissions advisor.

Financial AidApproximately 54-55 percent of students receive financial aid of some kind.
