American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service was formed by the merging of two schools in 1964 - McAllister School & the American Academy. AAMI has years of experience in funeral education and thousands of funeral directors have graduated from this school. American Academy offers two program options for students: a campus program and an online program. On-campus classes are conducted in the heart of New York City. Lecture, media presentations, discussion, practical laboratory exercises and simulated role play are the methods of presentation.

An extensive funeral service library and computer resource center is available to students to facilitate learning and promote academic curiosity. Field trips and guided research projects take advantage of the wealth of opportunities offered by location in midtown Manhattan.

Admissions
Applicants must be high school graduates or hold a state approved equivalent diploma.
Moreover, an applicant must comply with any specific legal or educational requirement prescribed by his/her intended state of practice.
