South Texas Vocational Technical Institute has been working in the area of technical and vocational education for 30 years; it provides flexible schedules to let students combine work and school at the same time. The institute strives to provide students assistance in employment after they graduate and financial assistance for eligible students.
South Texas Vocational Technical Institute has campuses in Weslaco, Corpus Christi, Brownsville and McAllen, which are designed to simulate actual working conditions and promote quality career training. Career training programs include Business and Computers, Health Care, Automotive Repair, ESL, ACHR and Welding.
AdmissionsSTVT admits any person, as regular students, having a high school diploma from an accredited high school, or the recognized equivalent (such as a GED).
1. Interview by an admissions representative.
2. Complete an enrollment agreement.
3. Submit information that may be required to determine qualifications.
Financial AidEvery student will have a personal consultation in the Financial Aid office of STVT. The students will be given a FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Financial Aid office personnel is trained to evaluate eligibility for financial assistance and to assist student’s financial needs. STVT offers a wide range of plans to assist students in financing their career training.

This assistance includes: preparation of resumes, cover letters, and interviewing skills, part-time job placement while attending school, information and advice on job availability in specific areas, individual job placement assistance, job coaching services to improve job seeking skills.
