The Rio Grande student body of over 2,400 under¬graduate and graduate students come from 15 states and 23 countries.

Students can choose from over 60 academic pro¬grams, including certificate programs, associates, bachelors, and master’s degrees. Custom majors and minors are also available for those students whose needs differ from traditional program offerings.

Rio Grande offers eleven sports, five for men and six for women. Men’s programs include baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer, and track and field. Women’s programs consist of basketball, cross country, softball, track and field, volleyball and soccer.

Rio Grande offers its students a vibrant campus life, including nine social fraternities and sororities; numerous professional and community organizations; hundreds of planned campus activities a year; an active intramural sports program; and outlets for artistic expression. In addition, Rio Grande’s loca¬tion within minutes of national forests and parks makes it ideal for nature enthusiasts.

The student faculty ratio is 15:1 and the average class size is 14 students.

Admission
The University of Rio Grande Office of Admissions evaluates all applications for admissions for first year undergraduate, transfer, and graduate and professional studies students.

Financial Aid
Over 96% of Rio Grande students receive some form of financial assistance. Eligibility for financial aid is determined by the federal government by informa¬tion provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Prospective students must be accepted to Rio Grande before a financial aid award will be determined. However, students may apply for financial aid before being accepted and will be packaged once they are officially accepted.

The School of Graduate and Professional Studies at the University Rio Grande is committed to providing financial access to graduate students , primarily through student loans.
