Admission Main eligibility requirements for applicants: - Have the high school diploma from an accredited public or private secondary school or have satisfactorily completed the General Education Development (GED) test;
- Visit the school and meet with a member of the admission staff;
- Schedule a financial aid interview.
Applications for admission are evaluated within two weeks of university’s receiving student’s completed application, including official transcripts and completed admission assessment. Its better to apply early, since there are limited openings available.
Financial AidWest Virginia Junior College is eligible to participate in the federal financial aid programs authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended, and as administered by the U.S. Department of Education. Also, WVJC is eligible to participate in the WV Higher Education Grant Program administered by the State of West Virginia.
The FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) is an extremely important part of the financial aid process. It assists Financial Aid Officers in determining which federal funding programs you are eligible to receive.
Career ServicesWVJS helps its graduates every step of the way, starting with a career preparation class that prepares the graduates for a successful job search. Then the Career Placement Office works one-on-one with each student or the graduate, reviewing job leads, helping to prepare for the interview, and guiding the career search until the student gets the job he/she wants.
