Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College serves approximately 13,500 students each semester, and employs more than 630 full- and part-time faculty members. The College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs through its four schools: Business; Engineering & Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Hudson Valley is sponsored by Rensselaer County and is part of the State University of New York system. All of its programs are registered and approved by the New York State Department of Education.
Through its campus with extensive, state-of-the-art facilities it offers academic programs, and its Bulmer Telecommunications Center encompasses the latest innovations in multi-media presentation, video teleconferencing, distance learning, and instructional technology, and the McDonough Sports Complex, a 126,000-square-foot recreational facility that contains a field house and the ice rink.
Many distinctive programs are offered at the College. Providing distinctive student support services including the Collegiate Academic Support Program, the Learning Assistance Center, the Educational Opportunity Program, the Minority Orientation Program, the Disability Resource Center, the Peer Tutoring Program, the Smart Start Program, and the Viking Day Care Center, it will ensure students’ success. All students may profit by these services, whether they attend full- or part-time, or in the day or evening.
Financial AidHudson Valley Community College has the Mastrangelo Financial Aid Center that realizes that attending college is one of the most important investments you'll ever make. Students are provided with complete and accurate financial assistance information and help through counseling services, publications and mailings.
