The North Carolina Central University (NCCU) was licensed in 1909 and opened to students on July 10, 1910 as a private institution. The main purpose of NCCU is to teach students academically and professionally for becoming leaders. NCCU is an all-round institution, which provides its students with programs at the baccalaureate, master’s and selected professional levels.

North Carolina Central University has a lot of organizations and clubs that students may join to meet other students with whom they have similar interests or to find their niche on campus. The kinds of organizations range from academic, fraternity/sorority, governing body/representative, political/social action, international, special interest, religious/spiritual, social, sports/recreation, student media/publications to ethnic and multicultural.   

Admission
North Carolina Central University is ready to enroll people of all races and students of cultural diverse. North Carolina Central University is dedicated to educating both those qualified high school leavers who have never attended college and those who have attended college. All prospective students who want to receive education at NCCU have to submit an application to the appropriate admissions office. All applications may be submitted at the beginning of the fall, spring or either of the summer terms.

Financial Aid
North Carolina Central University understands students’ needs and is ready to offer financial aid in the form of grants, scholarships, work study and loans. In order to participate in one of the Federal and State funded financial aid programs students should prove their financial needs.
