Northwestern State University's Office of Student Financial Aid is committed to providing the best possible service to students and families who need help meeting the costs of higher education. The University and the Financial Aid Office provides assistance to members of its community through scholarships, grants, loans, and student employment.
To establish and maintain eligibility for federal student aid and some other student aid programs you must:
-    Be a regularly admitted student enrolled in a degree program;
-    Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen (Federal Student Aid);
-    Have a high school diploma, GED, or passed an ability to benefit test;
-    Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress;
-    Not be in default on an educational loan;
-    Agree to use federal student aid funds solely for educational purposes;
-    Not owe a refund or repayment on an educational grant;
-    Not have borrowed in excess of annual or aggregate limits on a Title IV student loan.
