Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is the largest independent institution of higher education in the southeastern United States and is the sixth-largest not-for-profit independent university nationwide. NSU has three campuses in Southern Florida, the largest being a 480 acres (1.9 km2) campus located approximately 26 miles (41.84 km) north of downtown Miami.
The university was established as the Nova University of Advanced Technology on a former naval training airfield offering graduate degrees in the physical and social sciences. In 1994, the university merged with the Southeastern University of the Health Sciences and assumed its current name.
NSU consists of 18 colleges and schools offering over 175 programs of study with more than 250 majors. The university offers professional degrees in law, osteopathic medicine, business, pharmacy, optometry, dentistry, and nursing.

AdmissionsStudents who are going to attend college for the first time and wish to experience either the traditional day program or the non-traditional evening program have to include with their application or send separately: 1) Official high school (or secondary school) transcripts with courses, grades and graduation date (if available). 2) Official test scores from the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT): Only required for Day/Professional and Liberal Studies students. 3) A copy of both sides of your resident alien card if applicable.
