Spertus is a Jewish institution grounded in Jewish values that welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds to explore the multi-faceted Jewish experience through its innovative public programming, collections, exhibitions, research facilities and degree programs. Spertus encourages learning, serves diverse communities and fosters understanding for Jews and people of all faiths, locally, regionally and internationally. Spertus creates an engaging environment for people of all ages and backgrounds through a synergy of cultural and academic programming.

Spertus College offers masters degrees in Jewish Studies, Jewish Education and doctoral degrees in Jewish Studies (as well as a masters in Nonprofit Management through the Center for Nonprofit Management). The highest degree offered in the school is the Doctoral degree. The maximum length of the program is more than four years. Approximately 300 students are enrolled, locally or through distance learning, in graduate degree programs accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges each year. Spertus College also serves thousands of continuing education learners annually.

The main aim of the program is to present a solid foundation on training Jewish educators. Spertus also provides public programs, lectures and performances on a great variety of subjects including Jewish religion, history, the arts and culture. Language studies consist of Hebrew, Aramaic and Yiddish.
