The University of Baltimore was founded in 1925 as a private institution. The founders were a group of Baltimore civilian leaders who wanted to provide low-cost, part-time evening study in business and law for working matures.
Online education is cost-effective. However tuition may be marginally higher than campus tuition, the gains in personal and work time, depending on your circumstances, may more than offset this dissimilarity.
University’s online courses are highly structured and require frequent interactions with the instructor and with other students enrolled in the course. A growing body of evidence points to the conclusion that, depending on student’s learning style, each student may learn more in the active learning environment of online classes than in the frequently passive environment of a lecture hall or classroom.
Financial AidThe University of Baltimore offers such main types of financial aid as scholarships, grants, loans (student loans, parent loans, and private education loans)and work study awards. It is always better to apply for financial aid as early as possible. The earliest student can apply is January 1st for the fall semester.The most common mistake students make is waiting until they make their final decision about what college they will attend before applying for aid. Apply early to qualify for the largest award possible.
Applying for financial aid requires two things:
1) a co-operative relationship between you and the Office of Financial Aid
2) attention to detail
Each application for financial aid will be reviewed once the application is complete and student has been accepted into a qualified academic program.
ScholarshipThe University offers a number of scholarships to part and full-time undergraduate and graduate students all over the world. Scholarships do not have to be repaid, and are renewed based on satisfactory academic progress and achievement norms. Every students are encouraged to also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid to be considered for financial aid.
