Being one of the four distinct and separate components of the University of Houston System, UHD offers educational opportunities and access to students from a variety of backgrounds including many first generation college students, students who work full or part time, students who may have family obligations and students who transfer from community colleges and other higher education establishments.
Total enrollment has surpassed 12,000 students who attend classes in four Colleges: Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, Technology, Public Service and Sciences. Nearly 2,000 students graduate each year with degrees in humanities and the arts, social sciences, business, the sciences and technology, criminal justice and education.
Financial Aid and ScholarshipsThe University of Houston Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid offers a difference of financial aid programs to assist undergraduate and graduate students in meeting educational expenses. All programs include scholarships, grants, loans and work-study, which may be awarded in various combinations and amounts to meet individual student requirements.
Because of limited funds in many programs, it is important to begin the application process early and complete the necessary applications properly and at the right time.
