UMB, part of the University System of Maryland, is located on 60 acres in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. Nowadays, this acre research and technology complex comprises 62 buildings in west Baltimore near the Inner Harbor.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore is the state's public academic health and law university devoted to professional and graduate education, research, patient care, and public service.
