VU is situated on the banks of the Wabash River. Its 160-acre campus includes more than 30 modern buildings featuring red-brick construction consistent with the first campus building, the 1803 home of VU's founder, William Henry Harrison.
Vincennes campus enrollment is around 4,825. VU students come from 91 Indiana counties and over 30 foreign countries.
Vincennes University offers students many choices for their college career including:
- earning a two year degree;
- earning a four year degree in a major specifically designed for Indiana's economy;
- earning a two year degree and transferring your credits to another four year school to finish a four year degree.
AdmissionVincennes University maintains an open door admissions policy but reserves the right to deny admission or continuing enrollment based on the individual's ability to benefit from available educational services. It is strongly recommended that students meet the Indiana Core 40 curriculum requirements, but it is not required for admission.
To meet the admission requirements, a student may need to provide: - Formal application for admission;
- $20 application fee;
- Transcript of high school record or results of GED test; VU Accuplacer exam for all Health Science majors;
- Detailed transcript (each course briefly described) showing graduation date;
- Academic portfolio;
- Curriculum overview.
SAT and ACT scores are not required for admissions, however; scores from these tests are used for scholarship consideration.
Financial AidAll federal aid, including student and parent loans, all state aid, and many scholarships are tied to the FAFSA.
Vincennes University is required under Title IV of the Higher Education Amendments to define and administer standards of satisfactory academic progress for students receiving financial aid.
