Wayland Baptist University enrolls more than 1,000 students on the main campus in Plainview, TX, plus 5,800 students on campuses in Amarillo, Lubbock, San Antonio, and Wichita Falls, Texas; Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska: Sierra Vista and Phoenix, Arizona; Aiea, Hawaii; Albuquerque and Clovis, New Mexico; Altus, Oklahoma; and Kenya, Africa. Students/faculty ratio is15:1 on the main campus in Plainview; 17:1 on the other campuses. The average class size is 16 students.
Main WBU’s students’ activities include student government, academic clubs, honor societies, special interest and Christian service organizations, music and drama groups, as well as social fraternities and sororities.
AdmissionAll students should meet the following eligibility requirements:
- A completed application for admission;
- An application fee of $35 (non-refundable);
- Official test scores from either the ACT or SAT. The written section is not required for admission.
- An official transcript from an accredited high school which indicates graduation and the completion of three years of English, two years of mathematics, two years of social sciences, and two years of science.
Financial AidIn order to determine federal aid eligibility, student’s must complete the FAFSA and all required WBU financial aid applications. Alongside federal aid, Wayland has state aid programs that supplement financial need at a private university for students who are determined TX residents. These funds cannot be used at an out-of-state institution of higher learning. Wayland's Financial Aid Office has resulted in financial assistance for over 95% of our full-time students.
Career ServicesThe Office of Career Services provides a wide range of services to assist students and alumni in their career development. To prepare them for their job search, students can receive instruction regarding the preparation of applications and resumes and the development of positive interviewing skills. Students can receive career counseling to help them assess their interests, values, and personality characteristics as well as select an appropriate academic major and career area. A career library providing information on various career opportunities, graduate schools, and job search skills is available to students. The services provided by the Career Services office are free for anyone who has completed or is completing work towards a degree the University.
