Wright State is a nationally accredited state university with an impressive range of study. It consists of such colleges: Education and Human Services; Engineering and Computer Science; Lake Campus; Liberal Arts; Nursing and Health; Raj Soin College of Business; Science and Mathematics; University College; and following Schools: Boonshoft School of Medicine; Graduate Studies; Professional Psychology. WSU offers a 109 undergraduate and 57 professional degrees and programs in diverse areas of study.
As a part of the requirements for a baccalaureate degree at WSU, students must complete a minimum of 56 hours of course work in the General Education Program (GEP). The GEP is required of all students and serves as a foundation upon which all baccalaureate programs are built. Substitutions can be made for some General Education courses.
A bachelor’s degree awarded by a university implies more than career preparation or specialized technical competency. A university education should be broadly based in order to promote intellectual growth, cultivate critical examination and informed understanding, encourage breadth and flexibility of perspective, and provide students an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge that will form the basis for their life-long learning.
AdmissionsWright State is on a rolling admission process and accepts applications throughout the year. Students interested in scholarships, housing, and financial aid, are supposed to have their admission application complete by the required deadlines.
New students must meet the following admission criteria: Ohio residents 2.0 GPA, 18 ACT composite or 840 SAT critical reading and mathematics only, and a college preparatory curriculum. Non-Ohio residents 2.5 GPA, 20 ACT composite or 960 SAT critical reading and mathematics only, and a college preparatory curriculum. Transfer students must have a 2.0 cumulative GPA from the last school where they attempted 9 semester hours or 12 quarter hours.
Financial AssistanceUndergraduate students can apply for scholarships, grants, employment, or loans from a number of sources which include: Federal Student Aid Programs, State Aid Programs, Wright State University Aid Programs, External Scholarship Programs and Alternative Loan Programs.
Wright State's priority deadline to file the FAFSA form is February 15. Students can still apply for financial aid after that date.
